Seeking shelter from an unexpected rainstorm that washed out the Glebe market the other weekend, I stumbled into the nearby Junktique. This three-level recycled emporium was an unexpected delight, selling everything from books, artworks and knick-knacks through to lighting, furniture and homewares. The owner, who was manning the store, was laid-back and friendly and his eye for “junk(an)tiques” was interesting, eclectic and spanned the decades, while prices were affordable. I emerged an hour later, after time well spent exploring all the store’s little jam-packed nooks and crannies, with a shortlist of wanted wares. Worth a visit.
