Wait and See

Big brands are king in Milan. The Golden Triangle, so aptly named, is home to the Gucci’s of this world and if big time label shopping is your thing, this is your spot. Me, I prefer to skip off the beaten track, delve into the underground and shop local designers. So it was with some serious excitement when I tripped over Wait and See in the cobbled lanes behind the Duomo this week. With a hidden street frontage opening into a surprisingly large store, Wait and See does not fail to deliver the young Italian (and French) designers I’ve been searching for. With a kooky range of wares from toy trucks to hanging baskets and desk draws used for display, the store feels more like an old friends home. Without a doubt a new contender on the list of Milano favorites, and definitely worth a look see for visiting Michis.
