There is no season as beautiful as autumn, no time in Melbourne like this part of the year. The air is fresh, the light diffused and sleepy, the sun blazing but with no sting. It’s just lovely. It is perhaps because of this that a new shop in North Fitzroy has taken the name Aprilmay – it’s as fresh, light, breezy and as warm as the weather. Good grief, what drugs am I on? Sorry about the syrup.
Aprilmay stock their own range of retro inspired frocks and children’s clothes next to the amazing handiwork of a bunch of knitters from Ballarat – pram covers, kids’ cardis, teddies. Nicola Cerini and Metalicus alongside brooches and toys by Maude, and other locally sourced antiques and oddities.
