Four years ago my ex-landlord went to the Sydney Olympics and made a fortune selling t-shirts that said, wait for it, “Black Men Can’t Swim”. I’m only telling you this because, not only is it both funny and horrific, it’s kinda similar to how UK label Burro got their start. They cashed in at the 1990 World Cup in Italy with a much classier t-shirt slogan, “Non Alla Violenza”, worn predominately by ecstasy hyped soccer fans. Since then they’ve decked out the Gallagher brothers, Jarvis Cocker and the lovely Chris from Figure 8.
