Call me lonely, but I’m no fan of Keira Knightly. I can’t respect a woman who has made a career out of a vacuous pout and toff elocution. Sure, both ‘attributes’ lend themselves very neatly to painful period pieces or a bit of piracy but they provide an infinite source of annoyance for me. I left Atonement after twenty god-awful minutes and have been expiating myself ever since with the poor souls who promised me I would get passed my distaste for the deadly Knight-shade of cinema. Some things are just destined to be a bone of contention, right? I’m out on a limb, again.
