A little bird, a French bird to be precise, has informed me of a petit faux pas about to hit Melbourne’s food world. Plans are in motion for Elena Bonnici, Stephanie Alexander’s protégé now of Pizza Meine Liebe fame, to open a new place. The new place is to be named Bande a Part. Unfortunately, not only is Bande a Part a seminal film of French New Wave Cinema, and a Nouvelle Vague album, it is also a colloquial expression for a man in a state of ‘arousal’ by himself. What a hoot!
