Last week, a beautiful baby named Liv was born, and I wanted to write this story for her. I’d already lined up the Primoeza sweater as a ‘centrepiece’ and was pleased when, without much contrivance, I decided that it had the colouring, the light warmth and the soft glamour, to befit a beautiful namesake – the great, grown-up Liv Ullmann.
And then I decided that I possibly didn’t need a namesake, and that I could just put size 00000 Liv inside the picture, inside the sweater, all swaddled up – with the sweet, playful tuft framing her tiny pink cheekbones.
