Sturt’s Desert Pea outfit by Linda Jackson, now on display at NGV Australia; book now for a Colouring in Fashion workshop with Linda Jackson, March 4.

If Little Ragged Blossom was part of the first Tales of Snugglepot and Cuddlepie (M. Gibbs, 1918) and if she was approx. 1.5 years old at the time, then – in 1983, when Linda Jackson created this organza and taffeta gown, it is quite conceivable that Lady Ragged Blossom would have been the perfect age for it. Furthermore, it seems plausible to suggest that if Lady RB had given up her eucalypt skirts for couture, she would naturally have chosen a piece created by an Australian artist, and been delighted to adopt a different striking allusion to the beloved bush.
