When I was teenager I remember my mum calling me a ‘little vixen’ and thinking it was vaguely amusing. Now as an adult (in age at least), I thought I had grown out of my quarrelsome ways. But then recently I got to thinking about a friend of mine who is so very nice, she puts everyone else to shame. She is so calm and sweet and thoughtful that she does indeed make me look not so much like a vixen but a plain old haggy bitch. She truly makes me want to change my cynical ways. Maybe it’d be easier if we just stopped being friends?
