You know when you think your phone is ringing but then you check your phone and it’s smugly silent and then you think maybe you’re going crazy because you’re hearing things and you’ve attributed a personality to your phone because how can a phone look smug anyway? Issue #7 of the Latvian comics anthology kuš! makes me feel a bit like that – it has a musical theme, and many of the contributing artists have found ways to represent sound visually. A mixed bag of charm, chaos and humor, kuš! #7 actually deserves to look smug.
